CHARLESTON
📍 Where to find activities
→ King Street — Charleston's main street running through the historic district. Divided into three sections: Lower King (antique shops), Middle King (fashion boutiques), and Upper King (restaurants, bars, and nightlife). Walkable and the center of activity in the city.
→ Historic District — Cobblestone streets, colorful historic houses, churches, and iron-gated gardens. The entire district is walkable.
→ Charleston City Market — A historic open-air market with local crafts, sweetgrass baskets, food vendors, and souvenirs.
→ Waterfront Park — A park along the harbor with views of the water and swinging benches.
→ The Battery — A promenade and park at the southern tip of the peninsula with historic houses and views of the harbor.
→ Folly Beach — A beach town about 20 minutes south of downtown Charleston. Surfing, a fishing pier, and beach bars. The most popular beach near Charleston for a younger crowd.
→ Sullivan's Island / Isle of Palms — Beach communities east of Charleston, across the harbor. Quieter than Folly Beach.
→ Marion Square — A public park on King Street that hosts the Charleston Farmers Market on Saturdays.
📍 Where to eat
→ King Street / Upper King — A dense concentration of restaurants. Charleston's food scene is rooted in Lowcountry cuisine: shrimp and grits, oysters, and Lowcountry boil.
→ Charleston City Market area — Restaurants around the market.
📍 Where to go out
→ Upper King Street — The main nightlife strip. Bars, rooftop lounges, speakeasies, live music venues, and clubs. The nightlife concentrates here, especially on weekends.
→ Downtown / Market area — Additional bars and venues.
→ Folly Beach — Beach bars with a more casual vibe.
📍 Where to find culture
→ The historic architecture—Walking through the historic district is the primary cultural experience.
→ Old Slave Mart Museum — A museum addressing Charleston's history with slavery.
→ Gibbes Museum of Art — An art museum in the historic district.
→ Gullah culture — Visible at the City Market through sweetgrass basket weaving and other traditions.

Myrtle Beach
→ A beach resort city on the northern South Carolina coast. A long stretch of beach, a boardwalk with amusement rides, mini golf, outlet shopping, and a family/spring break atmosphere. The nightlife is tourist-oriented with beach bars and clubs.
Hilton Head Island
→ A resort island on the southern South Carolina coast, near the Georgia border. Beaches, golf, bike paths, and a quiet, resort-oriented atmosphere. Limited nightlife.

South Carolina has a humid subtropical climate.
Spring (March–May) — Highs 20–28°C (68–82°F). Pleasant and popular for visiting.
Summer (June–August) — Highs 30–34°C (86–93°F). Hot, humid, and rainy. Afternoon thunderstorms. Beach season.
Fall (September–November) — Highs 20–28°C (68–82°F). Hurricane season continues through November.
Winter (December–February) — Highs 12–16°C (54–61°F). Mild compared to northern states. Fewer tourists.
