Each property chooses one of five cancellation tiers. The tier is always displayed on the listing page before you book.
Every listing clearly shows its cancellation tier — Flexible, Moderate, Strict, Very Strict, or Non-Refundable.
If you need to cancel, submit a request through your booking page. You'll receive a case number for tracking.
OpenRoom reviews every request and processes approved refunds to your original payment method.

The 4% payment processing fee is charged to process your payment and is never refundable. Payment processing happens even if the booking is later canceled.

All cancellation windows are measured against the property's local check-in time (default: 3:00 PM). The property's timezone is used, not yours.
The 4% payment processing fee is charged for payment processing and is never refunded, regardless of cancellation tier, timing, or reason. Payment processing occurs even when a booking is canceled.
Taxes are refunded proportionally to the lodging amount refunded. Refund calculations always use the tax snapshot from the time of booking — rates are never recalculated.
All refunds are reviewed and approved by our team. The system calculates the proposed refund based on the tier and timing, but a human makes the final decision.
