Connection steps

- 6
Choose and import properties
Back in OpenRoom, review the preselected properties, deselect any you do not want, and select Import properties.
- 7
Confirm the connection
When the completion screen appears, select Go to dashboard. Your imported properties will appear in OpenRoom with their sync status.
Use OpenRoom guest emails: review Hospitable messaging
OpenRoom creates a Manual reservation in Hospitable to hold availability while a split payment is pending. This can trigger a New Reservation message before payment is complete. A Hospitable message is not proof that the OpenRoom booking has been paid.
- In Hospitable, open Guest Experience > Messaging Rules. Review New Reservation and every other guest automation, including scheduled arrival and departure messages, that applies to the Manual booking platform and your OpenRoom properties.
- If you want only OpenRoom guest emails, disable each matching rule or remove Manual or the affected properties from its scope. Check the full scope before changing a rule, as other guests may also be affected.
- Review messages already generated in each conversation's Activity Log and in Pending messages. Rule edits do not update existing event messages, even if unsent; cancel unwanted messages separately. Individually edited scheduled messages also need a separate review.
Manual includes other manual bookings, not just OpenRoom reservations. Excluding Manual can stop messages for those bookings too; excluding a property can affect its other booking channels.
Alternative: prepare event messages for review
For event rules such as New Reservation, choose Prepare (but never send automatically) under Timing if you want drafts to review. Those messages will not automatically send to guests, but Hospitable may still email the host about a prepared message. Review other guest automations separately.
Hospitable documents that Manual bookings receive Inbox messages only and do not trigger Direct transactional emails. Inbox messages can be sent manually or by automation, so review messaging rules even if you are not using Hospitable Direct.
OpenRoom cannot turn off or verify all Hospitable emails. These settings are managed in Hospitable; reservation holds remain in place while payment is pending.
Troubleshooting
