🐻 Important Notice: You Are in Bear Country 🐻
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We share this beautiful mountain area with local black bears. While seeing them can be an exciting part of your mountain getaway, they are wild, highly intelligent, and constantly searching for food.
To ensure your safety and protect our local wildlife, you must follow these strict property rules during your stay:Secure All
Trash: Never leave trash bags outside or next to the bins. All garbage must go directly inside the bear-proof trash enclosure and be securely latched/locked immediately.
Lock Your Vehicles: Do not leave food, wrappers, drinks, coolers, gum, or scented items (like lotion or perfume) inside your car. Bears can smell these through closed windows and will break your car doors or windows to get to them. Keep vehicle doors locked at all times.
Keep Doors and Windows Locked: Always lock the cabin doors and first-floor windows when you are away or sleeping. Bears are smart enough to open unlocked lever-style door handles.
No Outdoor Food Left Attended: Do not leave food, pet bowls, or leftovers unattended on the deck or patio.
Supervise Children: Keep a close eye on kids and pets when they are playing outside.
What to do if you see a bear:
If you see a bear on the property, keep your distance. Do not approach it, block its path, or attempt to feed it. If it gets too close to the porch or cabin, make loud noises (clap, yell, bang pots) from a safe distance inside to scare it away.
Failure to secure trash or follow these safety guidelines may result in local code enforcement fines or immediate cancellation of your stay without a refund. Thank you for helping us keep our bears wild and our guests safe!
